What Verdah analyzes

While you browse LinkedIn, Verdah reads the text content of posts in your feed and on profiles in order to score how likely each one is to be AI-written. That post text is the only content Verdah processes.

Verdah does not read your private messages, your connections, your account credentials, or any page outside of LinkedIn. It runs only on linkedin.com and only reads what's already visible on the page — it does not log into anything or collect data on your behalf.

How analysis works — and where your text goes

How a post gets scored depends on your plan.

Free  Your own key, direct from your browser

On the Free plan you supply your own API key from a third-party AI provider, which is stored locally on your device. When a post is scored, your browser sends that post's text directly to that provider using your key. The request does not pass through Verdah's servers, and Verdah never receives or stores the text or your key.

Pro  Through Verdah's backend

On the Pro plan, post text is sent to Verdah's backend, which forwards it to a third-party AI provider for analysis and returns the result to your browser. The post text passes through this backend in transit but is not stored or logged there. The provider processes the text to generate the score; see "Third-party services" below.

Feedback you choose to send

If you're on Pro and you disagree with a verdict, you can tap a badge and mark the correct call. When you do, Verdah stores that correction along with the text of that post so the scoring can be reviewed and improved over time. This only happens when you deliberately submit a correction — Verdah never sends feedback automatically. On the Free plan, no feedback is transmitted at all.

Payments

Verdah Pro is billed through Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe collects and processes your payment details and email address. Verdah never sees or stores your card number. Verdah stores a license token tied to your subscription so the extension can confirm your Pro access. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.

What's stored on your device

Verdah keeps a small amount of data in your browser's local extension storage, on your device only:

• Your AI provider API key (Free) or your Pro license token — whichever you use.
• Your settings, such as whether scanning is on or off.
• A per-day scan count, used to enforce the Free plan's daily limit.
• A local cache of recent verdicts, so posts you've already seen aren't re-scanned. This never leaves your device.

This data stays on your device. You can clear it at any time by removing your key or license in the extension, or by removing the extension.

What Verdah does not do

• It does not sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
• It does not show ads.
• It does not track your browsing history or use analytics to follow you around the web.
• It does not scrape, copy, or store LinkedIn profiles, connection lists, or message contents.
• It does not act on your account — it only reads post text that's already on screen.

Limited Use

Verdah's collection and use of data obtained through the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. The post text Verdah accesses is used solely to provide the extension's single purpose — scoring how likely a LinkedIn post is to be AI-written — and is never sold, used for advertising, transferred for unrelated purposes, or used to build user profiles. Where post text is processed by a third-party AI provider, that transfer happens only to deliver this single purpose.

Browser permissions, and why

• Storage — to save your key/license and settings on your device.
• Access to linkedin.com — so the extension can read post text and place badges on the page.
• Access to the AI provider and Verdah's backend — so scoring requests can be sent (directly on Free, via the backend on Pro).

Third-party services

Verdah relies on a few outside services to function. Each has its own privacy policy:

• A third-party AI provider — analyzes post text to produce a score.
• Cloudflare — hosts Verdah's backend and this website.
• Stripe — processes Pro subscription payments.

Data retention

Verdah doesn't keep post text from normal scoring. The only post text retained is what you deliberately submit as a correction, which is kept to review and improve scoring accuracy. Subscription and billing records are retained by Stripe for as long as needed to provide and account for the service. On-device data lives on your device until you remove it.

Children

Verdah is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed to children. It is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
