Verdah Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 12, 2026
Verdah (“Verdah,” “we,” “us”) is a Chrome extension that detects AI-generated content on LinkedIn and displays confidence-scored badges. This policy explains what the extension accesses, how that information is used, and what we do not do with it.
Verdah is built to keep your data on your own device. We do not operate servers that collect your data, and we do not receive, store, sell, or share your information.
What the extension accesses
- LinkedIn post content. When you browse LinkedIn, Verdah reads the text of posts visible on the page so it can analyze them. This happens only on linkedin.com pages.
- Your Anthropic API key. To run the analysis, Verdah uses an Anthropic API key that you provide. The key is stored locally on your device using Chrome storage (
chrome.storage.local). It is never sent to Verdah or to any party other than Anthropic.
Verdah does not access your LinkedIn login, password, private messages, or connections list.
How the information is used
- Post text is sent directly from your browser to the Anthropic API (api.anthropic.com), using your API key, where it is analyzed for signs of AI generation.
- The result — a verdict, confidence level, and brief reasoning — is displayed as a badge on the post.
- Requests are made under your own Anthropic account and your agreement with Anthropic.
Verdah uses this data only to provide its core function: AI-content detection on LinkedIn. It is not used for any other purpose.
Third-party processing: Anthropic
Post text you choose to analyze is processed by Anthropic through its API. Anthropic’s handling of that data is governed by Anthropic’s terms and privacy policy. Per Anthropic’s API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train Anthropic’s models. See Anthropic’s privacy policy: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy
Where data is stored and for how long
- Your API key stays on your device in
chrome.storage.localuntil you remove it in the extension settings or uninstall the extension. - Analysis results are held only temporarily in memory to avoid re-analyzing the same post during a session, and are cleared when you close or reload the page.
- Verdah keeps no logs and no copies of post text or results.
What we do not do
- We do not collect or store your data on any Verdah server.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, other than sending post text to Anthropic to perform the analysis you request.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, cookies, or advertising.
- We do not build user profiles.
- We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Your choices
- Remove your API key at any time from the extension’s settings popup.
- Uninstalling Verdah removes all locally stored data, including your API key.
- Disable or remove the extension at any time from chrome://extensions.
Children
Verdah is not directed to children and is intended for users aged 18 and older.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the extension evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page.
